Prof. Dr. Georg Kelling (1866–1945), pioneer of laparoscopy
Mr. Dr. med. Wolfgang Kelling is an honorary professor of the Kuban Medical University, for which he has organized numerous ultrasound courses. He is a European gastroenterologist (Fellow of the European Society of Gastroenterology) and cardiologist, as well as a member of the European Society of Cardiology.
He looks back with pride on a long medical family tradition: his great-uncle, Prof. Dr. Georg Kelling from Dresden, introduced laparoscopy into medicine in 1901. This method, now used worldwide, enables large operations with significantly faster recovery thanks to small incisions.
Dr. Kelling's many years of conventional medical experience in gastroenterology and cardiology enable him to take a holistic view of internal diseases – including modern stress-related disorders.
His areas of focus include: heart and circulatory diseases, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, inflammatory bowel diseases, hepatitis B and C, obesity and metabolic disorders, chronic fatigue syndromes, weakness and insomnia.
